Here's everything you need to know to book.
Driver requirements (for insurance)
To drive Inkling you must:
- Hold a full UK driving licence (for other licences, just ask)
- Have held your licence for at least 2 years
- Be aged 25–75
- Have no serious driving convictions

Day hire pricing
Regular rates: £60–£80/day
Our standard rate, for anyone booking with Inkling for the first time.
Mates rates: £50–£70/day
For returning guests, and anyone referred by someone who's hired with us before. Even strangers tend to become friends after their first trip — so if either applies to you, just mention it.
Wellbeing rates: £15–£40/day
A small number of spaces at a reduced rate. Contact me on WhatsApp to check availability.
Final pricing depends on season, trip length, and travel plans. On top of the day rate, there's a fixed fee of £60 covering cleaning, admin, and the secure deposit scheme for the whole trip.
What a 3-night trip costs (in season):
- Regular rate: 3 x £80 = £240, + £60 fee = £300 total
- Mates rate: 3 x £70 = £210, + £60 fee = £270 total
Discounts are available for longer trips and off-season bookings — ask for details.
Short trips & flexibility
Two-night trips often work out surprisingly close in cost and preparation to three nights. Because of that, we now encourage 3-night bookings where possible — with a little more flexibility built in, like higher mileage allowances and more relaxed pickup or return timing when we can offer it.
It tends to make for a much more relaxed trip, especially for families or first-time campervan adventures.
Mileage
We keep our daily hire prices intentionally low and flexible. Instead of building high mileage costs into every booking, we tailor the included mileage allowance to your trip — so you only pay for miles beyond your allowance. Tailored to your trip, not someone else's, keeping things fair and transparent for everyone.
