At Inkling we do not like surprises, and we think you probably do not either. We try to keep the booking process simple, relaxed, and human — while still making sure everything is properly insured and organised for everyone involved.
A typical Inkling booking usually looks something like this:
A quick conversation by WhatsApp or email to check dates, trip plans, and answer any questions.
Once dates are agreed, we will ask for:
a driving licence photo (front and back)
an email address for paperwork and trip information
For some non-UK licences or insurance situations, we may occasionally need one additional form of ID too.
We will send over the rental agreement and practical trip information well before collection day, so you can read everything through at your own pace with a cup of tea rather than in a rush on the driveway.

Closer to collection, we will ask for a DVLA check code to validate the insurance.
Before your trip, we will also help tailor Inkling to the sort of adventure you want — from simple touring setups to more campsite-based stays with Electric Hook Up.
We will ask a few practical questions about things like bedding, cooking setup, tables, chairs, and optional extras so that Inkling feels ready for your trip rather than a generic hire van.

We will go through the van together, answer questions, complete the final paperwork, and get you on the road feeling relaxed and confident.
We normally suggest allowing about an hour for handover. We keep things relaxed, practical, and tailored to your experience level so you leave feeling comfortable and confident before setting off.
