How Inkling works
Inkling is designed to be flexible, and how it feels depends a little on how you choose to travel.
Most guests naturally end up using it in one of two simple ways — and both work brilliantly with the right kit.
About a week before travel, we will normally ask a few practical questions and pack Inkling accordingly, including adjusting things a little for the weather, your plans, and who is travelling — whether that is solo travellers, couples, or families with children and whether you are off grid (no electric) or want to use the electric hookup (check your campsite for EHU option before booking).
Touring (van only)
If you’re moving between places, the van works as a compact, self-contained setup.
Everything is within the van, so you switch between layouts — for example, moving between the bed and kitchen. It’s straightforward once you’ve done it once or twice and quickly becomes part of the rhythm of van life.
This works especially well for shorter trips or couples travelling light.
Base setup (with tent)
If you’re staying in one place for longer, leave the kit in the tent and use the van to explore. It makes the van a more spacious place, and it stays clear and ready to use with very little need to rearrange things inside.
This is often the most comfortable option for families or longer stays.
Getting the most from your trip
There’s no single “right” way to use Inkling — some people tour, some stay put, and many do a mix of both.
Once you’re set up, it’s simply a case of settling in and enjoying your trip.
